MUSIC CENTER PLAZA and FOUNTAIN in Los Angeles, CA., USA
120 drummers were there representing the drumming traditions of
ASIA
LATIN AMERICA
CAL ARts
AFRICA
Garcia was invited by drummer Malik Sow
to play a tlapan huehuetl (MEXICA/AZTECA) drum of
THE AMERICAS
originally from the MAYAN tradition,
and going back to 790 A.D.,
with(in) the African drumming traditions that were represented there that night
(see pics for additional info)
unfortunately,
he was the only drummer invited there to represent that tradition
Sometimes these are arranged around worldwide tours
and/or when I am back in the USA not on tour
