Dear folks

A blessing  to have over fifty years of MUSIC MAKING
opportunities, with musicians and instruments from the
old and new world(s), with concerts, lectures and presentations
in twenty-eight countries across five continents.

sharing rehearsals and concerts with some of the most
giving (and forgiving)
instrumentalists,
composers,
musicians,
poets and poet laureates,
choreographers,
and filmmakers--
artists from rich and varied cultural
traditions across the planet—who continue to 
reach out for the chance to MAKE MUSIC 

arriving at this moment has been organic and humbling,
each attempt  revealing another lesson
—a deeper understanding, renewed practice,
and the patience to play what is heard, instead
of what I want to........

the INTENTION behind the music grows from shared
experiences and encounters, from immersion in new
vernaculars, and from making music with those of
different traditions and visions—as well as with
friends who have created MUSIC together for decades.
each sound stands as a record of the moment,
each rhythm,
a mirror of now
none of this would be possible without the support
of the Supreme,
mi familia,
teachers,
mentors, and
músicos.

may we each continue to strive to live our lives with

 INTENTION
 – why we do what we do

 INTEGRITY
 – how we do what we do

 INTENSITY
 – how often we do what we do

 PASSION
 – which cannot be rehearsed, or bought and paid for

 and
 BALANCE
 – perhaps the most difficult to maintain.
