blessed to have 50 plus years of MUSIC MAKING opportunities
with percussion instruments from the old and new world(s)
with performances in 28 countries on 5 continents
with rehearsals and performances with some
of the most giving
(and forgiving)
instrumentalists
composers
musicians
poets and poet laureates
choreographers
filmmakers
from very different rich and cultural backgrounds
on the planet who continue to make time to make
music with me.........
getting to this point has been totally organic,
surprising and humbling
as every attempt to transcend my limitations gives me another
lesson in what I need to do to play what I hear .......
The intention behind my music-making has never been cosmetic or manufactured
but rather ongoing experiences and reflections on my beingness at that moment in time
none of it would have ever been possible without the moral support of the
Supreme,
mi familia,
my teachers
mentors
and
musicos
may we continue to strive to live our lives with
INTENTION
- why we do what we do
INTEGRITY
- how we do what we do
INTENSITY
- how often we do what we do
PASSION
- which cannot be rehearsed, or bought and paid for
and
BALANCE
- probably the most difficult to maintain
